Once again this season, LigaF has reactivated the ‘Amor por los Colores’ campaign to commemorate the International Day Against LGBTIphobia in Sport, which will be celebrated on Thursday, February 19. This initiative seeks to launch a call for respect, equality and diversity in both society and sport. During the Matchday 20 fixtures (February 14 and 15), the LigaF Moeve clubs joined the action. Players, coaches, technical staff, referees, media and fans wore laces and hair ribbons with the rainbow flag. Additionally, the captains also wore a rainbow armband as a symbol of support and commitment to diversity for LGBTIQ+ individuals.
Furthermore, the colours of the rainbow flag played a leading role across LigaF's main communication platforms: television, web, and social media, amplifying the message and reaching an increasingly wider audience. The campaign also had a significant platform in the Basque derby played in Lezama between Athletic Club and Real Sociedad, and in the Madrid derby, which took place in Alcalá between Atlético de Madrid and Madrid CFF. The initiative will continue during the Matchday 21 fixtures (February 21 and 22) of LigaF Moeve. This is an action in which the world of women's football unites to help eradicate any form of discrimination and violence, creating a message of unity and social commitment.
