Sunday's matches will kick off from the Mendizorroza stadium, where newly promoted Deportivo Alavés will aim to secure their second victory of the season. Granada CF, on the other hand, arrives at this fixture after a 1-3 defeat to Madrid CFF in the opening matchday, but they secured their first win of the season by beating Real Sociedad 3-2 in the previous league game. Blanca Muñoz, Maya Evans, and Bárbara López were not available for that encounter. This match will be a direct duel between two teams that, a priori, will be fighting for the same objective: securing their place in the top flight.

At the same time, Real Sociedad and Costa Adeje Tenerife will be seeking their first victory of the season. The txuri-urdin side is one of three teams yet to pick up a point. Facing them will be Costa Adeje Tenerife. The Tenerife team has only managed one point so far this season after a 0-0 draw against Deportivo Abanca in the second week of competition. “I want to repay the trust with hard work and goals,” stated Tiwa, who could be a new addition to the visitors' squad. Nay Cáceres, Patri Gavira, Pisco, Alba Pérez, Yerliane Moreno, Érika González, who is recovering from an ACL injury, and Carlota Suárez are not expected to be available for this Sunday's fixture.

Valencia CF, meanwhile, will be looking to get off the mark after losing their first two matches, 2-0 away to Deportivo Alavés, and 1-3 against Madrid CFF at the Antonio Puchades. “We started very well, but they were more effective than us in the boxes,” declared Mikel Crespo after the last game. The coach will be without Jana Xin in goal and Andrea Recio in midfield. Both teams will also be fighting for survival.
