A ticket for the semi-finals of the UEFA Women's Champions League will be up for grabs this Thursday, April 2nd, at 18:45h in the Spotify Camp Nou for the second leg of the quarter-finals. FC Barcelona, who won the first leg 2-6 against the Madrid side, will play again for the first time since the renovation of their iconic stadium. The *culé* side boasts five consecutive wins, and twenty-six matches unbeaten (twenty-four victories and only two draws). Furthermore, Pere Romeu's team has only lost one match this season. The only two absences for the *azulgrana* team ahead of the clash will be Laia Aleixandri in defence, who ruptured her cruciate ligament, and Aitana Bonmatí, who is still recovering from her injury.
For their part, Real Madrid CF are coming off two consecutive defeats, both against the *azulgranas*, but prior to those two matches, Pau Quesada's side had secured seven straight wins. The White team currently sits in 2nd position in Liga F Moeve with 56 points, thirteen behind the leaders. The *merengue* squad defeated Paris FC 2-3 and 2-0 to reach the quarter-finals. Tere Abelleira, suffering from a cruciate ligament injury, is a confirmed absentee, as is Signe Bruun. Real Madrid need an unprecedented victory to advance to the next round, while FC Barcelona seeks to extend their record run of consecutive European semi-finals to eight. A competition they have won three times (2020-2021, 2022-2023, and 2023-2024).
The third match between the two sides in one week
This will be the third encounter between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF in just one week. In the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, the *culé* side won 2-6 in the capital, while the *azulgranas* also defeated the Madrid side 0-3 in the Liga F Moeve Matchday 24 clash. Furthermore, both teams already faced each other in this stage in the 2021/2022 season, during Real Madrid's first European participation. The *culé* side won 1-3 away at the Di Stéfano, and 5-2 in front of the 91,553 spectators who attended the match at the Camp Nou. A record attendance.
