After the two-week international break, the sixteen clubs of LigaF Moeve return to competition to face the final stretch of the season. These last five matchdays will kick off this Wednesday, April 22nd at 19:00h with the Catalan derby, where FC Barcelona could be crowned league champions with an away victory against RCD Espanyol. The battle for qualification for the next UEFA Women's Champions League will also be decided, with Real Madrid CF and Real Sociedad as clear candidates to join the Catalan side. The mid-table is highly competitive, while up to four teams: SD Eibar, DUX Logroño, Alhama CF ElPozo, and Levante UD will fight to stay in the top flight.

The Title Race and the Fight for Champions League Qualification

This Wednesday, April 22nd at 19:00h, the Blaugranas could confirm their eleventh league title if they win at RCD Espanyol's ground. Furthermore, FC Barcelona has already secured their place in the next Champions League, where Real Madrid CF, second in the standings with 59 points, and Real Sociedad, in third place with 54 points, could join them. The Madrid side is one win away from repeating their presence in the top European competition, while the Txuri-urdin club will aim to maintain their eight-point cushion over Costa Adeje Tenerife, who will try to close the gap. Atlético de Madrid (44 points) and Granada CF (41 points) face a tougher challenge, but will fight until the end.

Competitiveness in the Mid-Table

Closing out the TOP-8 are Sevilla FC and Athletic Club. Despite the Andalusian side heading into the break on the back of three consecutive defeats, David Losada's team is having a magnificent season, with twelve wins this term. Meanwhile, the Basque team has improved after a poor start to the season and aims to finish as high as possible. For their part, FC Badalona Women sits ninth, after having three points deducted for not presenting a doctor at away matches, and Madrid CFF occupies tenth place with 31 points. With five matchdays remaining, RCD Espanyol and Deportivo Abanca have already achieved their objective of staying in the First Division. Both will play their third consecutive season in the elite.

Four Teams in the Battle to Avoid Relegation

Fifteen points are still up for grabs, and four teams are fighting to avoid relegation. SD Eibar, who have gone ten matches without a win (one draw and nine defeats), holds a nine-point cushion over the relegation zone. The Armeras will host Levante UD this weekend in a crucial match for survival. DUX Logroño is currently on 14 points, five above the drop zone, after securing a draw and a win in their last two games, which has given them breathing room for these final five matchdays. Alhama CF ElPozo (9 points) and Levante UD (8 points), occupying the bottom two spots, will also try to stay up. The Murcian side has not won in LigaF Moeve since October 5th, while the Valencian club will face three direct relegation rivals.
