Liga F Moeve clubs begin their pre-season

The sixteen teams set to compete in the Spanish league during the 2026/2027 season are commencing their pre-season preparations in the second half of July. Sevilla FC, Athletic Club, Deportivo Abanca, and SD Eibar have been the first clubs to get started.

A month and a half after the end of the 2025/2026 season, the sixteen clubs of Liga F Moeve have already set the wheels in motion to ensure they are as well-prepared as possible for the new league campaign. Sevilla FC, Athletic Club, Deportivo Abanca, and SD Eibar were the four clubs to begin their pre-seasons earliest. The remaining teams are also joining in throughout these final weeks of July, undergoing the necessary medical and physical assessments alongside their first training sessions on the pitch. Throughout August, various friendly matches will be played to help the players find their rhythm ahead of the start of the domestic competition, which kicks off on the final weekend of August.


SEVILLA FC

The Andalusian side began their pre-season on Monday 13 July with the usual medical examinations, which will continue until Wednesday 15 July. On Thursday 16 July, David Losada’s squad will step onto the pitch at the club's training facilities for the first time with their new signings, joined by five youth players who will support the senior squad during training sessions and pre-season matches.


ATHLETIC CLUB

The Basque side were among the earliest to return. The Víctor Martín era at the helm of the Basque team kicked off on Monday 13 July with the standard physical assessments and medical check-ups. For now, the squad has returned to work without new signings, though they are bolstered by the return of five players who spent last season on loan at other clubs.


FC BARCELONA

The *azulgranas* secured their second quadruple of titles in history, winning the Liga F Moeve, the Supercopa de España, the Copa de la Reina, and the UEFA Women's Champions League. The team, led by Pere Romeu—who has renewed his contract and will continue in the dugout—will begin their pre-season on Monday 27 July with medical tests and their first training sessions on the pitch.


RCD ESPANYOL

The new RCD Espanyol project, now under the guidance of Sara Monforte, got underway with its new signings on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 July with the usual physical and medical check-ups. On Friday 17 July, the first team will hold their opening pre-season training session on the grass at the Ciudad Deportiva Dani Jarque.


REAL MADRID CF

The Madrid side will begin their pre-season at the end of the week of 13 July with medical examinations and the standard physical tests. Once these are completed, the players will hold their first training sessions on the pitch to prepare for the UEFA Women's Champions League qualifying phase, as they look to secure a spot in the group stage. Pau Quesada will continue to lead the project.


ATLÉTICO DE MADRID

The *rojiblancas* started their pre-season on Wednesday 16 July with medical tests, followed by their first training session on the pitch at the Centro Deportivo Alcalá de Henares on Thursday 17 July. Furthermore, the Madrid side will continue their preparations during the week of 27 July in Los Ángeles de San Rafael and will travel to Málaga from 3 to 9 August for a training camp.


DEPORTIVO ABANCA

Deportivo Abanca’s players were among the earliest to start their pre-season. The Galician side's new project kicked off on Monday 13 July with physical assessments at the Dépor Training Center and medical examinations at the Hospital HM Belén in A Coruña. These initial tests preceded the start of field work on the pitches at Abegondo.


REAL SOCIEDAD

After enjoying their holidays, the Real Sociedad squad began their pre-season on Tuesday 14 July. Ahead of them lie just over six weeks of preparation, during which Arturo Ruiz’s side will combine training sessions with summer friendlies. The *txuri-urdin* pre-season is highlighted by the UEFA Women's Champions League qualifying phase, as they aim to reach the group stage.


DEPORTIVO ALAVÉS

Deportivo Alavés will face their third season in history in Liga F Moeve following their promotion to the top flight. The team, led by Andrea Esteban, will begin training sessions on Thursday 16 July at Ibaia, but first, the Vitoria-based players underwent medical tests at IMQ on Wednesday 15 July to ensure they are in peak condition for the start of the league.


GRANADA CF

Irene Ferreras’s side will begin preparations for the 2026/2027 Liga F Moeve season on Thursday 16 July, the official start of the *nazarí* pre-season. The squad will head to the Ciudad Deportiva for the necessary medical tests and check-ups. Subsequently, the players will begin their first exercises on the pitch.


SD EIBAR

The *armeros* began their pre-season on Monday 13 July and Tuesday 14 July with the usual medical check-ups. Iñaki Goikoetxea, who remains in the dugout, will oversee three training sessions in Areitio on Wednesday 15, Thursday 16, and Friday 17 July, as they look to find their feet on the pitch ahead of the league start in late August.


FC BADALONA WOMEN

The new FC Badalona Women project will get underway at the end of the week of 13 July with physical tests and the corresponding medical examinations. Marc Ballester will continue to lead the Catalan side, which is looking to further establish itself in the top flight. The club has also already confirmed several friendlies to best prepare for the start of the league championship.


VALENCIA CF

The *che* side returned to the top flight just one year after their relegation. The team began their pre-season on Monday 13 July with the relevant physical and medical tests at IMED and the Ciutat Esportiva VCF. On Wednesday 15 July, Mikel Crespo’s squad began working on the pitch. Additionally, the team will play four preparation matches over the summer.


LOGROÑO UNITED

After securing their hard-fought survival last season, Logroño United will start their pre-season on Thursday 16 July with medical examinations. The Riojan side, which has kept the core of last season's squad, will begin a new campaign in the Primera División with the firm intention of securing another year in the elite and establishing the project in the top tier of Spanish football.


MADRID CFF

The Madrid side will start their pre-season on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 July with the necessary physical tests and medical check-ups. The first training session on the pitch will take place on Monday 20 July. During this pre-season, the Madrid CFF players will combine pitch work with various friendly matches to prepare for the start of the domestic championship.


COSTA ADEJE TENERIFE

At the start of the week of 13 July, the Costa Adeje Tenerife first-team players underwent medical check-ups at Hospiten. Furthermore, the players will hold a team-bonding day on Thursday 16 July to build relationships with the new faces before taking their first touches on the pitch. The first training session will be held on Friday 17 July on the grass at El Mundialito.
