“Whenever I’ve been asked how I would like to be remembered, my answer has never been related to goals, nor to football. What I truly desire is for you to remember me as the person I have tried to be,” explained Lauri Requena (Caudete, 25 May 1990) through tears at a completely packed press conference during her farewell as a player for the Nazarí side. Behind her lie 13 seasons and 362 matches. With one matchday of the league season still to be played, she became the player with the most appearances in the club's history this season, surpassing Alicia Amaro 'Lula' (339 matches) during this current campaign. The forward arrived at the Nazarí side in 2013 from Fundación Albacete, where she spent five years. The native of La Mancha quickly fell in love with the city and the club, with whom she suffered relegation from the top flight in the 2013/2014 season.

With her, the team climbed to Reto Ibedrola (2018/2019) and 1ª RFEF (2021/2022) before returning to glory in the 2022/2023 season to earn promotion to the top tier. In the elite, Lauri was once again key to the Andalusian side avoiding relegation in their first season, achieving a historic 5th-place finish and reaching the semi-finals of the Copa de la Reina in the second, and surpassing last year's impressive figures in the third. “During these years, I have tried to lead from the values of the Granadinista 'Eterna Lucha' (Eternal Fight), which represent effort, humility, commitment, and the ability to get back up time and time again,” expressed the forward, who is also the Granada CF player with the most appearances in Liga F Moeve (117), with one matchday remaining. The La Mancha native is now her club's second-highest goalscorer in the top flight with 22 goals, four of them at Los Cármenes.

She has also won two Copas de Andalucía for Granada CF, achieved in 2021 and 2025. “In the end, football passes, and what remains is how you make people feel, and I could never achieve a greater success than knowing I was able to help someone,” the forward explained. The forward described the difficulty of her departure as “the most difficult decision of my career, but I need a change to experience new things professionally.” Although she left the door open for a possible return in the future. “It hurts so much, but our paths will cross again,” confessed the eternal captain in a press conference where she displayed her Granadinista sentiment. Because as the anthem of the Nazarí side says: 'History says that a long time ago, you defeated the greatest, today it endures in memory', and the story of Lauri Requena will always endure in the city of Granada.
