Before the match kicked off, players from both clubs observed a minute's silence for the tragic accident in Urda (Toledo). Both teams took to the pitch with the aim of securing all three points from the start. Paula Gutiérrez had the first chance with a shot that went high, but it was Anita Marcos who broke the deadlock. Ona Baradad stole the ball and found Paula Arana. The forward's shot was saved by Miralles, but Anita Marcos slotted home the rebound from the far post. Sara Monforte's side had possession of the ball, and the crossbar denied Paula Arana a goal in the box. The one who didn't miss was Laura Martínez. The midfielder picked up a rebound, controlled the ball with her chest and unleashed a right-footed shot into the top corner.

A truly spectacular goal to level the score. Ana Franco tried her luck for the visiting side, while Marta Masferrer contained the attacks of RCD Espanyol. Meritxell Muñoz remained very secure, catching a ball sent into the box by Comfort Yeboah. The goalkeeper also managed to catch a powerful point-blank header from Cris Redondo, who was close to completing her team's comeback. Meanwhile, Ona Baradad tested Miralles with a long-range shot, but the goalkeeper of the Riojan side gathered the ball comfortably to avert the danger. The last chance of the first half fell to Justina Morcillo, but, once again, Meritxell Muñoz held onto the ball to deny the Argentine a goal.

After the restart, RCD Espanyol took just two minutes to regain the lead in the match. Ona Baradad got past Comfort Yeboah and delivered a low cross to the penalty spot, which Paula Arana finished to make it 2-1. The forward was the MVP of the match. Meritxell Muñoz saved Cris Redondo's effort, while Natalia Escot tried her luck with a cross-shot that Miralles caught. The player from Terrassa also went for goal with another shot over the bar. Ana Franco responded, but the attacker's shot crashed against the woodwork. The game was finely poised, and Comfort Yeboah also had a chance to score with a shot wide. María Barquero was the first substitution for the Riojan side, looking to find an equaliser.

A goal opportunity fell to Falfán, but the home goalkeeper comfortably saved the shot. Marta Masferrer also had a header, but with the same outcome as her teammate. Meanwhile, RCD Espanyol appealed for a possible penalty on Iara Lacosta, which the referee did not award. Ona Baradad could have sealed the win, but her shot was saved by a confident María Miralles. At the other end, María Barquero could have equalised, but the striker was unlucky. The visitors poured forward in attack, and Catalina Ongaro also came close to scoring with a shot that hit the woodwork directly. At the other end, Rebeca saved a goal for RCD Espanyol, and Mar Torras could have made it three, but Miralles gathered the ball.
