Four teams will fight to finish in the top 8 over the final two matchdays

Sevilla FC (39 points), Athletic Club (38 points), Madrid CFF (34 points), and FC Badalona Women (33 points) will fight over these final two matchdays to finish in the top eight of the league table. These eight spots allow clubs to bypass a round of the Copa de la Reina next season.

21 MAY 2026

With two matchdays remaining in the league championship, four Liga F Moeve teams will fight to finish in the top eight of the standings. Sevilla FC, currently 7th with 39 points, is best positioned to achieve its goal, while Athletic Club sits in 8th place with 38 points. The two sides looking to break into those top eight spots are Madrid CFF and FC Badalona Women. The Madrid-based side is 9th with 34 points, and the Catalan team is in 10th place with 33 points after suffering a three-point deduction during the season for failing to provide a doctor for their away matches. Beyond securing a higher position in the table, the clubs that finish in the top eight will have the privilege of skipping a round of the Copa de la Reina next season.

7th place: Sevilla FC with 39 points

Despite a run of six consecutive defeats, Sevilla FC sits in 7th place with 39 points. Well clear of the top five, David Losada’s side will fight in these final two matchdays to finish among the top eight teams in Liga F Moeve. The side from Seville has a five-point cushion over ninth-placed Madrid CFF, against whom they have an inferior head-to-head record. Therefore, the Andalusian side needs a win in one of their two remaining matches, two draws, or a slip-up by the Madrid team to achieve their goal and finish in the top eight. The Sevillistas will host SD Eibar on matchday 29, while they will close out the season visiting RCD Espanyol on the final date.

8th place: Athletic Club with 38 points

The 'Leonas' have two matchdays left to try and finish in the top eight. Currently, Athletic Club is in 8th place with 38 points, four ahead of Madrid CFF and five points ahead of FC Badalona Women, their two pursuers. Furthermore, the Bilbao side holds the head-to-head advantage over both teams. Javier Lerga’s side has reached this final stretch with two wins and two defeats in their last four matches and could even finish 7th if they overtake Sevilla FC (39 points). The final two matchdays for the Basque side will be a visit to Las Gaunas to face DUX Logroño on matchday 29, and the final match at Lezama hosting Alhama CF ElPozo to conclude the league championship.

9th place: Madrid CFF with 34 points

One of the two teams looking to break into the top eight is Madrid CFF, following their 2-0 victory against Sevilla FC, which ended their poor run of six matches without a win. It was also their third victory since Sánchez Vera arrived in the dugout. The arrival of the Madrid coach did not provide the expected immediate boost, but he has given debuts to several youth players, and with two matchdays to go, there are still options to enter the top eight of the domestic competition. Although it will not be easy, Madrid CFF will visit Granada CF on matchday 29, while the Madrid side will host FC Barcelona in the final match of Liga F Moeve—a Barcelona side that has already been crowned champions and received the league title.

10th place: FC Badalona Women with 33 points

The FC Badalona Women will also fight for those top eight spots. The Catalan team started the season with four matches unbeaten and only two defeats in the first ten matchdays, but a high number of draws led to a change in the dugout with Marc Ballester as the new coach. The manager, recently renewed for next season, put his stamp on the team and reached a historic Copa de la Reina semi-final. In the league competition, the Catalan club is in 10th place with 33 points, after suffering a three-point deduction for failing to present a doctor at their away matches. Their final two opponents for the last two league matchdays will be Real Madrid CF at home and Levante UD in Buñol.
