The first goal of the 2026/2027 Liga F Moeve season was scored by Fatou Kanteh (Banyoles, 25 July 1997). The forward needed just thirteen minutes to beat Andrea Tarazona and break the deadlock at the Riazor stadium. The Gambia international capitalised on a precise cross into the heart of the area from Laura Pérez to get ahead of her defenders and send the ball directly into the back of the net with a powerful header. A goal that would ultimately prove decisive in securing victory for Sevilla FC, who won 0-1 against Deportivo Abanca on the opening matchday. The striker played 60 minutes, during which she had one shot on target – the goal – won 50% of her duels, and had an 80% pass completion rate, in addition to recovering two balls.

Her story is one of overcoming adversity. A teacher convinced her parents to enrol her in a football team, leaving behind comments about her being a woman and African. Furthermore, she went from writing to the Gambian national team with no response to becoming the country's best footballer. In Fatou Kanteh's journey, there are five clubs: Porqueres, EDF Logroño, Sporting de Huelva, Villarreal CF, and Sevilla FC, the club with which she is embarking on her third season. Last season, she was the Andalusian side's top scorer, alongside Andrea Álvarez, netting 6 goals and providing 4 assists in 1,997 league minutes across a total of 28 matches. She scored the same 6 goals in Liga F Moeve in the 2024/2025 campaign, accumulating 1,878 minutes in 30 games.
