Undisputed at the back. That's Raquel García (Madrid, 22 April 1997). Having arrived this past summer from Deportivo Abanca, the Madrid-born player has hit the ground running at the Catalan club. She started in the Atlético de Madrid academy, where she progressed through the youth ranks, while also moving back from a central midfielder to a centre-back. After two years at Málaga CF, one at EDF Logroño (now called Logroño United), and another at Granada CF, in the 2021/2022 season she joined the Galician club, where she spent five seasons, achieving promotion to Liga F Moeve and two stays in the top flight, being an undisputed figure in the centre of defence, and becoming one of the captains of the Deportivo squad, from which she departed to sign for RCD Espanyol. The same path taken by her teammate Paula Gutiérrez, also a key player in the 'Perico' midfield.

The centre-back has adapted to the team as if she had been defending the Catalan club's shirt her entire life. Despite the first two defeats, the dressing room remained united and believed in Sara Monforte's vision. Raquel García values her for her demanding nature and knowledge of women's football. The defender is proving fundamental to the Castellón-born coach's plans, playing 616 minutes in 7 matches, only missing fourteen minutes. The Madrid-born player stands out for her defensive solidity, and after the first seven matchdays, she has become the player with the most clearances this season in Liga F Moeve, with 53, an average of 7.6 clearances per match. Furthermore, her reliability in the centre of defence has meant that RCD Espanyol has only conceded 9 goals, making them the fifth team in the entire domestic competition to concede the fewest goals per match.
