One of the players who paved the way for those who followed. Eli Ibarra is one of the pioneers of Spanish women's football. She began at SD Eibar, and later spent 15 seasons at Athletic Club, where she became a legend, making 400 appearances, scoring 111 goals, and winning 5 league titles with the Bilbao-based club. "The way women's football has grown moves me. I experienced a different reality, but seeing how women's football continues to grow more and more is truly emotional," says the former Basque team player, who was also a Spanish international. A true role model for the youngest players, who listen to her advice with excitement and look up to her figure to achieve their own dreams and one day become footballers.
"With great excitement. Ultimately, seeing the girls enjoy themselves and live this experience from such a young age is a privilege for them. I spoke to them a little earlier and told them to enjoy it, that we didn't have this opportunity before, and above all, to enjoy all these experiences," recounts the former player, who has served as the Athletic Club delegate throughout the Torneo Liga Futura Moeve. Both the Basque club's coaching staff and the players have soaked up her experience to face this tournament and all those to come in the future. "Living these emotions from such a young age, representing our badge, and wearing this shirt all over Spain doing what they love most is a unique opportunity that will help them grow as players," she states.

Furthermore, many players currently playing in Liga F Moeve had Eli Ibarra as their first role model in women's football. "For me, it is a source of pride. I have always said that for me, that is the greatest thing—to be a role model; being recognised on the street moves me. It moves me that they have had that feeling, as we are often not aware, but the image we project to them means a lot," she declares proudly. Now in a different role, that of helping those who are just starting out, she remains an important part of the growth of women's football. "I feel privileged. Being able to be on the outside, seeing them enjoy themselves, and telling them to make the most of every second because they are privileged to be able to live this," concludes one of the legends of Spanish football.
