Clara Pinedo, the new addition to España's squad for Wembley

The Spanish national team announced the list of called-up players for the matches against England at Wembley and Ukraine at the Nuevo Arcángel. The major new inclusion in the squad is Clara Pinedo, from Athletic Club, while Sonia Bermúdez welcomes back Esther González, Mapi León, Irene Paredes, and Cata Coll.

La Roja has announced its squad for the two upcoming matches for the Spanish national team, both of which are qualifiers for the 2027 World Cup. Head coach Sonia Bermúdez announced the list, which features the return of Cata Coll in goal, Irene Paredes and Mapi León in the heart of the defence, and Esther González up front. The major new addition is midfielder Clara Pinedo. The Athletic Club player is a key figure in the attacking midfield for the 'leonas' and received her call-up to the senior side during training. Meanwhile, Inma Gabarro will not be available; the Everton forward has suffered an ACL injury. Also absent from the squad are Laia Aleixandri, who is out with an ACL injury, and Aitana Bonmatí, who continues to recover from her injury. 

In total, Sonia Bermúdez's squad includes 18 players who compete every weekend in Liga F Moeve, spread across five different clubs in the competition. FC Barcelona leads the list with ten players, followed by Real Madrid CF with four, Athletic Club with two, and Atlético de Madrid and Real Sociedad with one each. The Spanish national team faces an important international window, where they will take on England at Wembley on Tuesday, 14 April at 20:00, and Ukraine at the Nuevo Arcángel stadium (Córdoba) on Saturday, 18 April at 16:00. These are two vital matches for La Roja to maintain their position at the top of the group and continue their steady progress on the road to the 2027 World Cup.
