Match details

Both teams took to the pitch at Las Gaunas with the aim of securing all three points. The first chance of the match arrived after five minutes. María Llompart unleashed a powerful long-range shot that crashed directly against the crossbar. Sheila Guijarro also tried her luck with an effort that the home goalkeeper gathered with ease. At the other end, Ana Franco attempted a cross into the box which the FC Badalona Women defence cleared. Twenty minutes into the match, Ximena Velazco tried her luck with a long-range effort that María Valenzuela comfortably saved, cutting out the danger. María Miralles also remained alert to deny the visitors a chance.

Around the half-hour mark, Elena Julve tried her luck with a shot from inside the box, but the winger's effort went just wide of the post, to the relief of Miralles and the burgundy side's defence. Rebeca provided the response after a corner, but the Riojan side's centre-back couldn't find the target. The Catalan side, in fact, appealed for a penalty just before half-time for a possible handball by the Brazilian centre-back, which the referee did not award. María Miralles also remained very alert to claim a loose ball inside the box, preventing any danger. Despite chances for both teams, the scoreboard reflected a goalless draw: 0-0 at the end of the first forty-five minutes.

The second half followed the same script as the first. Cristina Redondo tried her luck with a long ball over the top of the defence, which María Valenzuela dealt with confidently. The forward followed up with a shot that the Catalan team's defence blocked, sending the ball out for a corner. The visiting goalkeeper also remained very alert to save a shot from Ana Franco. At the other end, Paula Sánchez looked to create danger, but without success. With half an hour of the second half played, María Barquero and Laura Martínez entered the field. Meanwhile, Lorena Navarro was the first change for the Catalan team. María Barquero attempted a shot that the visiting side's defence blocked, clearing the danger.

Both teams made further substitutions. Itziar Pinillos came on for the Catalan side and tried her luck with a header that went wide, while Francisca Altgelt entered the pitch for the Riojanas. The clearest chance fell to Irina Uribe, who tried her luck with a shot that crashed directly against the woodwork. Meanwhile, Isina, who was the MVP of the match, was looking for a goal for the home side. Just when it seemed the match was heading for a draw, the only goal of the game arrived. Francisca Altgelt stole the ball in midfield, carried it forward and played it through to María Barquero, who returned the ball to her for the Argentine to score the decisive 1-0 at Las Gaunas stadium. Despite FC Badalona Women's late attempts, the score remained unchanged.
