Deportivo Alavés, recently promoted to the top flight, arrive at the fixture in 7th position with 6 points after winning 2-0 against Valencia CF on the opening matchday, losing 1-0 to Atlético de Madrid in Alcalá on the second date of the competition, and taking all three points again with a 1-0 victory over Granada CF in the last matchday. Andrea Esteban's side, who have won both home games they have played this season, both without conceding a goal, are looking to cause an upset. Precisely, the Vitoria-based club is the team that has conceded the fewest goals this season, with only 1 against.
