Spain will face the United States once again to continue making history
The Spanish national team will face the United States on Saturday, October 10th at 20:30h and on Wednesday, October 14th at 01:00h at the Subaru Park stadium (Chester). La Roja arrives after a 0-2 victory over the North American side a few days ago. The match will be broadcast live on Teledeporte and RTVE Play.

After winning 0-2 against the United States in the first friendly, the Spanish national team will face the North American side again. “We are looking to test ourselves against different national teams, with different profiles. The match will be completely different to the one we’ve already played,” stated Sonia Bermúdez in the pre-match press conference. The coach will be without Athenea del Castillo, who was sent off in the last game. For their part, Patri Guijarro and Eva Navarro were the goalscorers in the previous encounter between the two teams. In that match, Clara Pinedo, Andrea Medina, Natalia Ramos, and Ainhoa Marín also made their debuts for La Roja, who secured direct qualification for the 2027 World Cup after finishing 1st in Group 3 with 15 points, achieving five wins and just one defeat in the six matchdays.
Eleven of the called-up players currently play in Liga F Moeve, and five clubs are represented. FC Barcelona, Athletic Club, and Real Madrid CF lead the list with three players each. Meanwhile, Atlético de Madrid and Real Sociedad each have one player. It will be a clash between champions. La Roja arrive as the reigning World Cup champions and winners of the Nations League. The United States, looking for revenge after the first match, are the current Olympic champions and SheBelieves Cup winners. Furthermore, the match will pit the two best teams in the world against each other. “I expect a much tougher game. We want to disrupt their transitions, with the objective of winning, but with the importance it carries,” continued Sonia Bermúdez, who wants to test players ahead of the World Cup.
Following the match the two nations played a few days ago in Washington, this will be the fifth time these two countries have faced each other, with a record of three wins for the United States and two for La Roja. The Americans won 0-1 in a friendly in 2019, 1-2 in the Round of 16 of the 2019 World Cup, and 0-1 in another friendly in 2020. For their part, Spain's two victories came by 2-0 in a friendly at El Sadar in 2022, and also 0-2 in last Saturday's encounter. A new challenge with history on the line, where Sonia Bermúdez's side will aim to close the first international break of the season with another victory and great feelings. The match will also be special for Alexia Putellas. The midfielder will reach 150 caps for La Roja if she plays any minutes against the North American side.
