Ninth signing for Eibar in this transfer window. Following the arrivals of Samara Ortiz (Deportivo Abanca), Nerea Sánchez (Madrid CFF), Ángeles del Álamo (RCD Espanyol), Anna Wellmann (Bayern de Múnich), Aitana Zumárraga (Alhama CF ElPozo), Thirsa de Meester (KRC Genk Ladies), Nahia Azpizu (CA Osasuna) and Noe Fernández (SE AEM), centre-back Estefanía Botero 'Simona' has become the ninth addition to the 'armero' squad to take on the 2026/2027 season. At 31 years of age, the Colombian defender brings experience from CE Seagull, Levante Las Planas, Pozoalbense and Rayo Vallecano, before joining RCD Espanyol. She has spent the last three seasons with the 'perico' side. In her first year as a 'blanquiazul', she played 24 matches in the Primera RFEF, serving as a key figure in the centre of defence as the Catalan side achieved promotion.

In her last two campaigns, the defender, who signs for the 'armeras' until 2027, has managed to fulfil one of her dreams: making her debut in Liga F Moeve, playing a total of 28 league matches over two years. Last season, the centre-back played 1,284 minutes across 17 matches, starting fourteen of them and coming off the bench in three. She stands out for her aerial ability, her composure playing out from the back, and her defensive solidity. Her statistics prove it. Last term, the defender averaged 4.9 clearances per match and regained possession 2.9 times per game. In total, throughout the year, the Colombian won 49% of her duels, while also averaging a 78% pass accuracy. Security, strength and leadership for the heart of the Eibar defence, which continues to strengthen its squad in pursuit of another season of survival in the top flight.
