Las merengues, who brought a favourable 2-3 result from the first leg, delivered in the return fixture to qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals. Fifty seconds into the game, Linda Caicedo had the first chance, but Chavas saved the Colombian forward’s shot. In the 5th minute, Greboval was sent off for a foul on Feller. The match was looking good for the Madrid side, but they failed to capitalise when Weir’s shot hit the wall. Angeldahl tried with a high shot, but the clearest opportunity came past the half-hour mark, from a penalty for a handball by Picard. With everything in their favour to score, Weir missed from eleven metres due to a save by former Madrid player Chavas, who stopped the spot-kick. The ticket to the quarters remained in their pocket, but Real Madrid needed at least one goal to bring some calm to the Di Stéfano.

After the restart, Pau Quesada brought on Toletti for Weir, which allowed Angeldahl to connect better with Eva Navarro. Navarro, from Yecla, took advantage of a pass from the Swedish midfielder, which Feller finished into the back of the net in the 54th minute. After the goal, and with a numerical advantage, Real Madrid began to play more fluidly in the opposition half. At the hour mark, Linda Caicedo struck the ball into the net, while in the 67th minute, another link-up between Angeldahl and Eva Navarro ended with a new cross from the player from Murcia that N’Dongala headed into her own net to make it 2-0 on the scoreboard. Sara Holmgaard, Sheila García, Alba Redondo, and Hanna Bennison came on in the final stretch to fully secure the quarter-finals for the third time in the history of the Madrid club, who will face FC Barcelona in the next round.
