Before the start of the match, the Costa Adeje Tenerife players paid tribute to Mari Jose, who was returning to her former home. Yerai Martín's side started better, and were encouraged by a cross into the box that Sol had to punch clear. The goalkeeper also caught a timid shot from Iratxe Pérez after a magnificent turn by Paola Hernández. The home side continued to press, and Sakina Ouzraoui tried with a shot that went high. After fifteen minutes, Cinta Rodríguez had a goal-scoring opportunity with a header from the near post that Estefa cleared off the line. Again, and after a corner kick, Fatou Demebele tried her luck, but the central defender's header went over the crossbar, much to the relief of the visiting defence. The clearest chance for the home side came after half an hour of the match.

A great move by Iratxe Pérez was almost finished by Sakina Ouzraoui, but the attacker overhit the ball, and Yannel Correa arrived providentially to send the ball out for a corner. The goal was a matter of time, and in the 38th minute, Costa Adeje Tenerife found their deserved reward. A free-kick delivery from Natalia Ramos ended up swerving dangerously, surprising Sol Belotto, who watched as the ball found the back of the net to make it 1-0. Before half-time, the Murcian side appealed for a possible red card for a tackle by Sakina Ouzraoui, but, after review by the Football Video Support, the referee did not award it. In the second half, Aitana Zumárraga entered the field to reinforce the right flank, but the match became even more complicated for the visitors.

In the 53rd minute, Encarni Jiménez intercepted a Natalia Ramos attack in midfield, and received her second yellow card. After the sending off, Ana Velázquez and Patricia Zapata came onto the pitch, but Costa Adeje Tenerife, especially capitalising on their numerical advantage, controlled the match even more. Natalia Ramos, who was the MVP of the match, sought her brace with a shot from outside the box that deflected off the opposition defence for a corner. Koko caused havoc in attack, and won a free-kick that Natalia Ramos also took. The midfielder's shot hit the crossbar. In the final minutes, Alhama CF ElPozo pushed for a dramatic comeback, but the 2,334 spectators at the Heliodoro rallied behind their team to secure a victory that puts them five points away from the Champions League spots.
