Match details

Before kick-off, the players from both clubs observed a minute's silence following the tragic accident in Urda (Toledo). Both teams tried their luck during the opening exchanges of the match, though without finding the back of the net. Violeta Quiles tried her hand, but without reward. Annahita Zamanian also tried her luck with a free-kick delivery, but failed to pick out a teammate. Athletic Club's response came from Ane Elexpuru, whose right-footed strike sailed over the crossbar. In addition, Daniela Agote had a go, albeit without causing danger. At the other end, Natalia Padilla looked for the opener with a shot that missed the target. The clearest chance arrived twenty minutes in, with Clara Pinedo unleashing a direct free-kick that went wide.

From set pieces, the Bilbao side continued to apply pressure, but Nay Cáceres was alert to the danger. Amaia Martínez then attempted to surprise the keeper with a powerful effort that flew over the crossbar. Meanwhile, Annahita Zamanian was pulling the strings in midfield for the Canarian side, yet struggled to unlock the opposition's goal. Before the break, Nay Cáceres comfortably dealt with a dangerous free-kick delivery. The final chance of the first half fell to Elene Gurtubay, but the midfielder couldn't keep her shot down, and it sailed over the bar. Both defences were the standout performers of a tightly contested first half, with the scoreboard reading 0-0 at the Heliodoro. That parity remained at the start of the second period, but it wouldn't take long to change.

An initial shot from Natalia Padilla served as a warning to the Basque outfit. The forward made no mistake at the second attempt, heading home a pinpoint cross to the penalty spot from Aleksandra Zaremba, who was named Player of the Match. A few minutes later, a Carlota Suárez header came close to doubling the lead, but the ball drifted too high. Noelia Salazar also tried her luck from distance, but without success. At the opposite end, the crossbar denied Ane Campos, who looked to catch the defence out with a shot that clipped a rival defender. The striker tried again with a header that went wide. Sara Ortega and Ane Azkona were the Bilbao club's first changes, with Maitane Vilariño and Jone Amezaga soon following them onto the pitch.

A fine individual piece of play by Daniela Agote almost caught the home defence out, but the Tenerife backline held firm. Maitane Vilariño also created danger, and Ane Azkona came close to getting on the end of a fantastic cross into the heart of the area. Víctor Martín's side searched for a desperately needed goal, but the Tenerife defence stood imperial at the back to protect their lead. Just as Athletic Club looked closest to finding an equaliser, the second goal arrived. A shot from Marina Martí was parried by Adriana Nanclares, but the rebound fell kindly to Paulina Gramaglia, who doubled the advantage. Ane Azkona had the final chance, but her effort missed the target and went harmlessly wide as Tenerife secured the victory.
