“Personally, I really liked the film. I think it very accurately reflects the struggle and advocacy that women have had to undertake throughout all these years. The seed has been planted, and we are reaping the rewards today”, stated Lucía Martínez (Madrid, 27 November 2001) after the film. The premiere of "PIONERAS. Solo querían jugar" took place this past Tuesday, 2 June, at Madrid's iconic Cine Capitol, reaffirming the association's commitment to promoting and recognising the history of women's football in our country. Furthermore, the Deportivo Abanca footballer was accompanied by Beatriz Álvarez, the president of LigaF, as well as Lola Romero, women's football director of Atlético de Madrid, and María Vargas, sporting director of the *rojiblanca* entity. In addition to meeting the pioneers who paved the way in women's football.

The Madrid-born player spoke to LigaF and felt very identified with the film's scenes, especially with “the insults on the pitch. At a family level, I have always had my parents' full support, but the insults have been the most unpleasant thing I've had to experience in the world of football”. Furthermore, Lucía Martínez valued the film as a way to “visualise the progress that has occurred over these years. It's very important to bring it to the cinema because that's where it can be captured and reach more people; socially, there's the argument that we are growing, but for it to reach cinemas and for everyone to be able to come and see it is spectacular”. Finally, the midfielder highlighted the growth of Spanish women's football. “The film reflects all the talent there is in Spain,” she concluded.
