Iara Lacosta celebrates her goal with the armero side.

Iara Lacosta scored the fastest goal of the season in Liga F Moeve

The winger for the 'armero' side scored 43 seconds into the match during SD Eibar's 2-1 victory over Levante UD. It was a key win for the Eibar side as they virtually secure their survival in Liga F Moeve. Furthermore, this goal is the second scored by the Navarrese footballer so far this season.

Ipurua Stadium hosted a direct clash for survival between SD Eibar and Levante UD. As soon as the referee blew the whistle to start the match, and with the fans still settling into their seats, the visitors kicked off, but the hosts were quick to regain possession. The Levante UD defence cleared the Basque side's initial attack for a throw-in as they looked to launch a counter-attack. Although Patri Ojeda took the throw quickly, Laura Camino flicked the ball on with her head, and it fell to Iara Lacosta. Even though the visiting defence intercepted the ball, it fell to Carmen Álvarez. The forward played a through ball to reconnect with her teammate, who got ahead of her markers to fire the ball into the back of the net just 43 seconds into the match.

The goal became the fastest of the Liga F Moeve season and helped set the tone for SD Eibar, who would extend their lead in the second half. The visitors pulled one back but could not prevent a 2-1 defeat. The win means that with four matchdays remaining, the 'Armeras' sit in 13th place in Liga F Moeve with 21 points, eleven clear of the relegation zone with twelve points left to play for, although they still have a match against Alhama CF ElPozo, who are currently just above the drop zone, on the horizon. Furthermore, this is the second goal Iara Lacosta has scored this season in the top flight. Just a couple of matchdays ago, the attacker also scored in the defeat against Deportivo Abanca (2-1) at Riazor.

After starting to play football with boys at Club Deportivo Cantolagua, her local club, she joined Club Deportivo Oberena in 2013, where she spent three years until signing for Club Atlético Osasuna in 2016. There, she became one of the team captains, helping them win promotion to Primera RFEF, and twice came within touching distance of reaching Liga F Moeve. The second time was against RCD Espanyol, the club she eventually signed for in the 2024/2025 season to make her top-flight debut, clocking up 1,257 minutes across 26 matches, in which she scored 1 goal and provided 4 assists. This campaign, now as an 'Armera', she has accumulated 916 minutes in 25 matches—all but one—and has already scored 2 goals, one of which is the fastest goal of the season so far.
