FC Barcelona kicked off their Champions League league phase with a victory. Although the French club took the lead five minutes into the game with a magnificent strike from Evelyne Viens. The Canadian beat her defender and unleashed a right-footed shot that found the back of the net. Pere Romeu's side managed to find an equaliser from a corner kick that resulted in a poor clearance which almost went in, but the much-anticipated goal for the *blaugranas* arrived in the nineteenth minute of the match. A good pass from Claudia Pina was capitalised on by Kerolin Nicoli, who unleashed a powerful low shot that went directly into the net. The *culés* appealed for a potential penalty on Sydney Schertenleib, but it was Clara Serrajordi, returning from injury, who finished off a great delivery from Graham Hansen's corner to put the *blaugranas* ahead.

After conceding, Paris FC pushed to level the score, but before half-time, two more goals arrived for the *blaugranas*. Graham Hansen won the ball in space and delivered a cross into the box, where Ewa Pajor scored the third. The two players then switched roles for the fourth. The Polish striker spotted the run of the Norwegian winger from deep, who beat Chavas with a powerful strike. In the second half, Marta Torrejón, Carolina Ferrera, and Lúa Arufe were given minutes. Porto do Son's player, in particular, sent a cross into the area which the rival defence could only partially clear, but Ewa Pajor fired the ball into the net. Clara Mateo's goal just a few minutes later was a mere consolation to reduce the deficit for the visitors. Laia Cabetas, who made her debut with the *culé* first team, was the *blaugranas'* final substitution.
