Before kick-off, the players from both sides observed an emotional minute's silence in memory of Jesús de Miguel, the CD Tenerife player. The opening chance of the match came from a Claudia Pina shot that rattled the woodwork. Meanwhile, Sakina Ouzraoui tried her luck for the Madrid side. Ewa Pajor went close before the 9th minute marked a tribute to the late Canary Islands player. Pere Romeu's side dominated possession, and Sydney Schertenleib looked to break the opposition's resistance with a rising strike. Ewa Pajor also had another effort fly high, and Belén de Gracia pulled off a brilliant save to deny Claudia Pina from point-blank range, with the forward and her team growing increasingly frustrated at failing to find the back of the net.
Pere Romeu's players struggled to find a way through as the Madrid defence stood resolute. That resistance was finally broken in the 39th minute: a neat one-two inside the box resulted in a loose ball that Esmee Brugts reacted quickest to. The Dutch player made no mistake to break the deadlock at the Johan Cruyff. On the counter-attack, Hasnath Ubamba sought an equaliser, whilst at the other end, Kerolin Nicoli tried her luck with a strike that sailed over the bar. Just before the break, the Brazilian spotted Ewa Pajor inside the area. The striker unleashed a powerful shot that Belén de Gracia could do nothing about, making it 2-0 going into half-time. After the interval, Emilie Holt was introduced for the Madrid side.
In the second half, the Madrid outfit looked to be more proactive in attack, but the Barça defence held firm at the back. Both managers were quick to dip into their benches once again. Alba Ruiz entered the pitch for Madrid CFF, while Van Asten, Patri Guijarro, Carla Julià and Marta Torrejón came on for FC Barcelona. Fittingly, the defender, making her 500th appearance in a blaugrana shirt, floated a cross into the box which Carla Julià met at the back post to turn the ball into the back of the net and score the team's third of the match. The fourth goal was the work of Patri Guijarro. The midfielder, who was named MVP of the match, unleashed a magnificent strike that flew straight into the top corner to extend the advantage.

The goal brought even more comfort to the azulgranas, and just a few minutes later, Claudia Pina joined the party. Patri Guijarro played a defence-splitting pass to Carla Julià, who teed up the local player inside the area to fire home with her right foot. Emilie Holt tried to pull one back with a long-range effort, but it was Inés Konan who capitalised on a high press to round off the scoring at 5-1. Mariana Silva also went close with a header, and Marta Torrejón and Mayssa Baha had the final two chances of the match, but the scoreline remained unchanged, cementing the azulgranas even further at the top of Liga F Moeve with 27 points, four clear of their closest challenger.
