Before the start of the match, Julio Rodriguez, who helped the victims of the tragic railway accident in Adamuz, performed the honorary kick-off. The first goal of the match arrived after two minutes of play. Lucía Corrales made a magnificent run down the left flank, drove into the box, and delivered a cross into the area which Edna Imade sent into the back of the net with a powerful header to open the scoring. Lucía Corrales tried again a few minutes later, but this time, the Ukrainian goalkeeper gathered the ball. On the other flank, Eva Navarro ventured a low cross. Mariona's final shot went high. The second chance came from a header by María Méndez, but the ball went over the crossbar. Sonia Bermúdez's side dominated the game, and Edna Imade came close to her brace with another header, but the ball didn't find the opposition goal.

Salma Paralluelo also failed to score. The Aragonese footballer tried a shot from the edge of the box which deflected off the visiting defence for a corner kick. However, the clearest chance fell to Alexia Putellas, who got the Nuevo Arcángel crowd on their feet, but couldn't score. Claudia Pina attempted a long-range shot, and, before half-time, Olha Ovdiychuk had a chance to equalise with a powerful shot that crashed directly against the crossbar, to the relief of the Spanish side. After the break, Sonia Bermúdez brought on Ona Batlle and Vicky López to refresh the team. And, right after the second forty-five minutes kicked off, Lucía Corrales delivered a ball into the heart of the area, and Edna Imade anticipated the visiting goalkeeper to score her brace and extend the lead on the scoreboard with a header.

Despite the difference on the scoreboard, La Roja kept trying, and Salma attempted a shot that hit the woodwork. On the half-hour mark, Vicky López delivered a cross from the corner of the box, which María Méndez headed directly into the back of the net. Sonia Bermúdez continued making changes, bringing on Fiamma and Laia Codina. The visitors barely created any danger, while Edna Imade was close to completing her hat-trick, but couldn't get the shot away. Fiamma also looked for the fourth, and it was precisely the player from Denia who threaded a pass for Eva Navarro to join her team's celebration with a stunning goal. The definitive 5-0 was scored by Vicky López, who left the goalkeeper and the final defender grounded. There was still time for Aiara Agirrezabala to make her debut for Spain at the Nuevo Arcángel in Córdoba.
