During her stay, Beatriz Álvarez held a meeting with the club's president, Josep Bellet, as well as with the new project leaders, Mario Malavé, co-founder of Mercury 13, and Pedro Iriondo, recently appointed CEO of Badalona Women, with whom she was able to gain first-hand insight into the strategic direction of this new phase for the Catalan entity.

The agreement signifies the arrival in Spain of Mercury 13, an international multi-club ownership group focused exclusively on women's football, which has acquired a majority stake in FC Badalona Women with the aim of providing long-term investment, operational expertise, and commercial development to the project.

Furthermore, this new era is backed by Fever, a global live entertainment discovery platform, which will be the club's main shirt sponsor, and by Nike, who join as a technical partner, reinforcing the entity's growth and international projection.

“The arrival of new investors committed to women's football is magnificent news for our competition. This agreement strengthens Badalona Women's structure and demonstrates that LigaF continues to generate confidence and attract solid projects that contribute to improving the competitiveness and future of our clubs. Badalona Women is building an ambitious and sustainable project that reflects the growth moment women's football is experiencing in Spain. From LigaF, we will continue to support the clubs in strengthening their structures and consolidating the competition.”

Institutional Support and Presence in the Copa de la Reina Semi-finals

During her visit, the LigaF president also attended the first leg of the Copa de la Reina semi-finals, between Badalona Women and FC Barcelona, where she had the opportunity to meet with representatives from the Badalona City Council, Rosa del Amo, 3rd Deputy Mayor, and Juan Portillo, Sports Councillor, with whom she shared impressions on the development of women's football and the role of institutions in promoting women's football in the city. This new project further reaffirms the club's commitment to the city of Badalona.

This institutional visit by the LigaF president reinforces the organisation's commitment to the competition's clubs and to those projects that, like Badalona Women's, contribute to consolidating the present and future of professional women's football in Spain.
