José Herrera's side will not be in the Champions League quarter-finals. The Rojiblancas, who were clinging to a comeback, ultimately fell in Manchester. The first chance fell to Jensen after a good play with Amaiur, but Tullis-Joyce saved the Norwegian forward's shot. Later, Lauren Leal tried her luck with a header. The English side then threatened with a shot from Schüller that Lola Gallardo managed to save. Around the half-hour mark, Zigiotti finished off a good move by Naalsund and sent the ball into the back of the net. The tie became even more complicated for the Madrid outfit, who relied on Fiamma to try and gain some breathing room, but the home goalkeeper appeared to prevent the goal. Before the break, Park received the ball on the edge of the area and unleashed a shot that flew into the top corner of the Colchoneras' net.

A goal to extend the lead on the scoreboard and in the tie. It became even harder for the Rojiblancas to mount a comeback. In the second half, Júlia Bartel tried her luck with a header, and then Schüller attempted a shot during a transition. The match remained open, but as the minutes ticked by, the tempo dropped. Atlético de Madrid were looking for a goal, but were unable to get past the home side's goalkeeper. Lola Gallardo had to make another superb save from Schüller, while Park later hit the post. Lydia Rodríguez and Natalia Peñalvo, two academy players, came onto the pitch. With six minutes remaining, and the tie all but decided, Xènia Pérez was sent off for a second yellow card. The Rojiblancas bid farewell to the premier European competition.
