Deportivo Abanca continues to bolster its squad for the upcoming season. Following the arrivals of Marisa García—whom the club has signed on a permanent deal—Daniela Caracas, and Eva Alonso, the Galician side has announced the signing of goalkeeper Andrea Tarazona (Ribarroja, 21 March 2004), who joins from the recently relegated Levante UD. “What attracted me most to coming here was the project. It seemed very interesting from the start, and I am really looking forward to getting started, meeting my teammates and the coaching staff, and getting to work,” the Valencian goalkeeper stated in her first words as a new player for the blue-and-white team. Last season, the goalkeeper played a total of 810 minutes across 9 league matches, in which she conceded 19 goals and made 33 saves (3.66 interventions per match).

Despite being only 22 years old, the goalkeeper has extensive experience in the domestic competition and has already racked up 58 appearances in Liga F Moeve. Her eleven saves in Levante UD's historic 1-2 victory at the Johan Cruyff stadium against FC Barcelona on 1 February 2025 will long be remembered. Eight of those interventions came from shots inside the box, demonstrating the goalkeeper's great reflexes against a Barcelona side that had gone 84 consecutive home matches without defeat. Tarazona is clear that playing at Riazor was one of her major incentives for signing with Deportivo Abanca. “It is one of the best stadiums in Liga F, and as a footballer, you want to play in these settings. I can't wait for it to start,” declared the Valencian goalkeeper, who has signed with the Galician club until 2027, with the possibility of extending her contract with the club.

“I had never been to A Coruña before; I had been in the surrounding areas, but I love the north, the greenery, the city... and from what little I’ve seen, it’s truly beautiful,” explains the goalkeeper, who has experience in Spain's youth ranks. She was a U19 international, a World Cup participant with the Spain U20 team, and was also called up to the U23 squad. Furthermore, with Levante UD, she also had the opportunity to play in the UEFA Women's Champions League qualifying rounds, giving her European experience. “On a personal level, my goal is to help the team as much as possible and contribute everything I have. Deportivo Abanca has been doing things very well for many years, and I want to continue in that line, defending the badge and trying to win as many matches as possible,” concludes the goalkeeper, who is eager to keep clean sheets at Riazor.
