After winning the Ballon d'Or in 2021 and 2022, Alexia Putellas has made history once again. The player from Mollet del Vallès follows in the footsteps of Aitana Bonmatí to claim her third Ballon d'Or, securing a sixth consecutive year for Spanish football to win this accolade, thanks to her stellar year at FC Barcelona, where she bade farewell this past summer to head to London City. As a *blaugrana*, she played 14 seasons, lifting 38 titles and becoming the most decorated player in the history of the Catalan club across all professional categories. In her final campaign in the *blaugrana* shirt, she scored 20 goals and provided 14 assists in 43 matches. "Thank you so much. It's a pleasure to be here. The fact that so many Barcelona players are nominated says a lot about the season we had," the former *azulgrana* began.

The midfielder did not hesitate to praise her former teammates. "It was a pleasure to play with you. As a team, we overcame many difficulties, and for me, it was a tremendous source of pride to be the captain of all of you. Thanks to Pere Romeu, the coaching staff, and all the club's employees, as well as my mother and my family," stated Alexia Putellas, who also wanted to leave a message of gratitude for the fans. "Thank you to the fans for these 14 years, and to the president and the board of directors," stated the midfielder, who was also crowned Nations League champion with the Spanish national team, with whom she qualified for the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil. This will be the next major objective for a player who has made history once again, and who encouraged all girls and boys to chase their dreams and play football.

Liga F Moeve also shines in the other awards

In addition to the Ballon d'Or, Spanish representation was prominent across the rest of the night's awards. FC Barcelona, having won all four titles—Liga F Moeve, the UEFA Women's Champions League, the Copa de la Reina, and the Spanish Super Cup—was named the best club in the world. The *azulgranas* won 44 of the 48 matches they played across all competitions, scoring a total of 193 goals. In the domestic competition, the Catalan side suffered just a single defeat. Spectacular figures to reign supreme in the world. Meanwhile, Vicky López retained the Kopa Trophy for the best young talent of the year. The player from Vallecas scored 12 goals in 45 matches across all competitions to claim the trophy for the second consecutive year, beating out her teammate Clara Serrajordi and Real Madrid player Felicia Schröder, who fell just short.

"Mum, even though you are no longer by my side, I feel you in every step I take, and everything I am achieving is yours," the midfielder highlighted in tears. The award for the best goalkeeper of the year also had a Spanish flavour. Cata Coll claimed the Yashin Trophy following a brilliant season in which she was instrumental in the quadruple of titles, playing a total of 32 matches and keeping 18 clean sheets, while Pere Romeu picked up the accolade for best coach of the season. "I view this award as a collective achievement, for having fantastic footballers who strive to improve every day to keep achieving great success. Thanks also to my staff," expressed the Spanish coach. These awards highlight the exceptional work of Liga F Moeve, and specifically FC Barcelona, ensuring Spanish football reigns supreme at the Ballon d'Oro Gala.
