Before kick-off, the Mendizorroza stadium paid tribute to Amaya García, U20 World Cup champion. David Losada's side started by dominating possession, and Raquel Morcillo had the first chance with a shot that drifted just past the post. The response came via a cross-shot from Carmen Sobrón that was comfortably gathered by Sullastres. Seven minutes in, Raquel Morcillo tried her luck again with a long-range effort. Once more, the Sevilla side threatened through a Rosa Márquez strike straight into the hands of the home goalkeeper. Shortly after, Sofía Fuente denied Raquel Morcillo with a superb save. In the very next play, Sullastres took centre stage with a brilliant stop to thwart Kumba Brima. There was nothing to separate the two sides out on the pitch.

In the 25th minute, Andrea Álvarez came close to scoring with a shot that deflected directly off the Babazorro defence out for a corner. Moments later, Rosa Márquez went close with an effort from inside the area that crashed against the crossbar and went wide much to the relief of the Vitoria-Gasteiz defence. David Losada's team were growing in confidence going forward, though without finding the breakthrough. With forty minutes on the clock, Rosa Márquez—who was named MVP of the match—broke the deadlock with a thunderous strike from the edge of the area, beating Sofía Fuente by a matter of centimetres. Just before the break, Inés Altamira went close with a header that sailed over the bar, but the scoreline remained unchanged.

After the restart, Andrea Esteban made a double substitution. Hanane Aït El Haj and Merche Izal entered the pitch in search of an equaliser, which took just two minutes to arrive. Ainhoa Guallar beat two defenders, drove into the box, and rifled a powerful shot into the far corner to level the score. Andrea Álvarez nearly responded for the visitors, but lacked accuracy in front of goal. Sevilla FC came close to taking the lead when an Alicia Redondo shot crashed straight against the post, denying the visitors a second. Everything was still to play for, with neither side able to find the winner to break the deadlock.

With twenty minutes remaining, Ainhoa Guallar tried her luck with an effort that flew wide. Jassina Blom and Xenia Barrios came on for the Andalusian club to inject fresh impetus into the attack. Indeed, the Belgian forward went close to scoring with a shot that cleared the crossbar by mere centimetres. Deportivo Alavés also threatened from set-pieces, though without success. Raquel Morcillo also fired an effort off target. Isa Álvarez came on for the visitors, while Sarah Brasero was the sole change for the Vitoria side. The Andalusian outfit appealed for a potential penalty late on, which the referee waved away. The scoreline remained unchanged as both teams shared the spoils.
