Sevilla FC and Athletic Club took to the pitch with the aim of getting back to winning ways. The visitors looked to create danger through Sara Ortega, while Raquel Morcillo tried her luck with a timid shot that went well wide. Ten minutes into the match, the game took a turn. The referee awarded a penalty for a foul by Maite Valero on Eva Llamas. Lucía Moral 'WIFI' stepped up to take the spot-kick. The forward, returning to the starting XI, made no mistake, beating Adriana Nanclares, who was also back in the lineup after serving a suspension. After the goal, the Basque side tried to react through Ane Azkona, but the forward couldn't quite get past a well-organised Sevilla defence, which left no gaps at the back.

The Bilbao side threatened with a header from Maite Valero inside the box, but it was Fatou Kanteh who found the reward of a goal just before half-time. The Gambia international capitalised on a long pass from Isa Álvarez to try and beat Nanclares, who saved the initial shot, but could do nothing about the forward's second attempt, which put the second goal on the scoreboard. After the restart, Javier Lerga made a double substitution. Nerea Nevado and Maite Zubieta, now recovered from injury, entered the field in search of a reaction from their team, although it was the hosts who quickly added a third goal to the scoreboard. Just nine minutes after the second half kicked off, Lucía Moral 'WIFI' scored one of the goals of the matchday.

The forward, who was the MVP of the match, surprised Nanclares with a right-footed shot from outside the edge of the box. The goal hurt Athletic Club, who couldn't get going in the game. Just past the half-hour mark, Fatou Kanteh delivered a cross into the heart of the box. The cross from the Gambia international was headed in by Raquel Morcillo to make it four. Adriana Nanclares, who got a touch on the ball, couldn't prevent the goal. The goalkeeper did make herself big between the sticks to deny Fatou Kanteh, who wasn't clinical in the one-on-one. Athletic Club tried in the final stages, but couldn't improve the scoreline. With the final whistle, the triumph of the Sevillian side was confirmed, leaving them 6th in the standings with 30 points, eight away from the Champions League qualification spots.
