The merengue side won 1-0 against Atlético de Madrid in the Madrid derby with a solitary goal from Caroline Weir in the first half. The Scottish midfielder was also the MVP of the match. Pau Quesada's team remains in third place, while the visitors' good run of form has been cut short.

Real Madrid CF and Atlético de Madrid took to the pitch at the Di Stéfano with the goal of securing all three points and winning the Madrid derby. The first chance of the match fell to Linda Caicedo. The Colombian broke into the box and unleashed a powerful strike that whistled just past Lola Gallardo’s goal. A few minutes later, Linda Caicedo produced another magnificent individual play, cutting the ball back for Feller. The French forward’s shot, with an open goal at her mercy, crashed directly against the crossbar. The response came from Jensen, but her effort went wide. Weir threatened again with a strike that Lola Gallardo tipped away with a providential save to concede a corner. Alba Redondo also tried her luck, but was unable to find the target. Twenty minutes in, the Atlético goalkeeper again denied Linda Caicedo with a great save.
Just four minutes later, Caroline Weir unleashed a left-footed volley to open the scoring with a stunning goal. Before the break, José Herrera’s side tried to find Jensen in attack, but the forward was unable to find the back of the net. There were no changes to either side after the restart. Angeldahl attempted a cross-cum-shot that went out for a corner. Just past the hour mark, trouble struck for the visitors as Lola Gallardo had to be substituted due to injury, with Patri Larqué coming on in her place. Meanwhile, Luany and Amaiur also entered the fray, replacing Alexia Fernández and Gio Garbelini. Shortly after, on the counter-attack, Atlético came close to equalising with a shot from Boe Risa that rattled the post. Furthermore, a quick attacking move ended with a final shot from Luany that Merle Frohms gathered at the second attempt.

A great intervention from the Real Madrid goalkeeper to comfortably neutralise the danger. Real Madrid CF also rotated their bench, bringing on Athenea del Castillo for Alba Redondo. The Cantabrian, returning from injury, had a chance with a shot from inside the area, but Patri Larqué held onto the ball. Atlético de Madrid came close to scoring again with a double chance: first, Amaiur tested Frohms with a fine strike, and then the rebound fell to Jensen. The forward’s shot went over the crossbar, much to the relief of the home defence. The visitors tried their luck once more with a wayward effort from Andrea Medina that sailed over the bar. The final chance of the match fell to the hosts, but Patri Larqué reacted brilliantly to keep the scoreline down, though the goalkeeper could not prevent the home side from taking the win.
