Txell Font, ambition and youth for the FC Badalona Women goal

The Catalan side have announced the signing of Txell Font. The 21-year-old goalkeeper joins from FC Barcelona, where she has spent the last ten seasons, making her debut last season in Liga F Moeve. The goalkeeper was a U19 European champion in 2022 and 2023 and a U20 World champion in 2022.

Following the return of Vicky Losada to Liga F Moeve, FC Badalona Women has announced its second signing of the summer: the arrival of Txell Font (Tagamanent, 10 December 2004), who joins from FC Barcelona. Developed at UE Centelles, the goalkeeper arrived at the culé youth academy in 2016. Five years later, she and her teammates inaugurated the women's La Masia, combining football and studies while residing at the club's facilities. That season, she began to carve out a place in the reserve team, and a year later, she was key in helping her side secure the Primera RFEF title. Furthermore, the goalkeeper has been a regular in the lower categories of the Spanish national team, with whom she was a U19 European champion in 2022 and 2023. She was also crowned U20 World Cup champion in 2022, earning the Golden Glove at the tournament.

“I would define myself as a goalkeeper with a lot of character, very ambitious, and eager to compete. My footwork is one of my strengths,” expressed the new FC Badalona Women goalkeeper. The shot-stopper has not stopped growing between the sticks. Not even a meniscus tear suffered in December 2023 could stop a keeper who was in the first-team dynamic at FC Barcelona throughout last season, during which they won every possible title: Liga F Moeve, Supercopa de España, Copa de la Reina, and the UEFA Women's Champions League. Furthermore, last season it was common to see her warming up alongside her sister Gemma Font during the Catalan side's matches. Her hard work was rewarded on 31 May 2026, when she made her Liga F Moeve debut in her team's victory against Madrid CFF (0-4), keeping a clean sheet and making two saves.

Now, the Catalan goalkeeper takes a step forward in her career and completes the goalkeeping unit for the Catalan side, which will consist of María Valenzuela, who was recently renewed, and Antonia Canales, who continues to progress in her recovery from an ACL injury. “I am very much looking forward to meeting my new teammates. I believe we will have very healthy competition and it is an opportunity for all three of us to grow,” affirmed the goalkeeper, who also explained her reasons for signing for FC Badalona Women. “It is a project that has trusted in me from the beginning. I believe they are growing just as I am. It can bring positive things to both of us. Above all, I am very eager to get plenty of minutes and to be able to contribute to the team,” concluded the young keeper, who is now ready to bring ambition, youth, and competitiveness to the Catalan squad.
