The third round of the Copa de la Reina was set to kick off this week with the participation of up to eight teams from Liga F Moeve, six clubs that finished last season between 9th and 14th place, and the two newly promoted sides, Deportivo Alavés and Valencia CF. Due to the tragic passing of Jesús de Miguel, a player for CD Tenerife, while playing yesterday against Andorra at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López, the RFEF has decided to postpone all matches in the cup competition, in both men's and women's categories, as a sign of respect and solidarity. The first of these postponed matches was AS Celtas - RCD Espanyol, which was scheduled to be played this Tuesday, November 3rd, at 18:00h, and which the RFEF has initially suspended.
Subsequently, the other cup duels have also been postponed. On Wednesday, November 4th, Levante UD - SD Eibar was scheduled for 18:00h, CD Argual - Madrid CFF at 19:00h, the clash between Osasuna - Logroño United also at 19:00h, and Cacereño - Deportivo Alavés at 21:00h. For their part, the matches on Thursday, November 5th, have also been postponed: CE Europa - Deportivo Abanca and Sporting de Huelva - FC Badalona Women, both scheduled for 20:00h, and Samper - Valencia CF, which would have closed the cup matchday starting at 20:30h. The RFEF has also announced that the new schedule and definitive times for the eight suspended matches will be communicated soon through their official channels.
