The second episode of ‘Ganando en salud’, the videopodcast created by LigaF, GSK and Radio MARCA, aims to bring health closer to society, specifically by incorporating healthy habits from an early age and understanding health as a shared responsibility. In this second instalment, experts Paula Echeverría, policy advocacy and rights defence technician for the Plataforma de Organizaciones de Pacientes, and Dr. Adrián Delgado, doctor for the first women's team of Atlético de Madrid, are the voices promoting healthy habits in society. “Health doesn't start in the hospital or health centre, but in daily life,” Echeverría stated during the conversation with Radio MARCA journalist, Yanela Clavo. Another of the most discussed topics was the role of physical exercise as a prevention tool.
“Physical activity should be considered another treatment within healthcare, adapted to each person's needs, doing so with the same precision as any other medical approach,” explained Adrián Delgado. The specialist from Atlético de Madrid recalled that sport not only helps prevent cardiovascular diseases, but also improves emotional well-being, promotes mental health, and contributes to maintaining greater autonomy throughout the years. Both agreed that the healthcare system remains focused on treating illness when it appears, while there is still a long way to go in the field of prevention. The guests also reflected on the barriers that hinder the adoption of healthy habits, such as lack of time or insufficient health education in childhood.
With this new season, ‘Ganando en salud’ reinforces its commitment to bringing medical and wellness topics to the general public through sport and professional women's football.
