Before the match kicked off, Laura Camino received a commemorative shirt for her 100th appearance for the home side. Both teams observed a minute's silence in memory of Silvino Louro, former goalkeeping coach for Real Madrid CF. Pau Quesada's side quickly took control of possession. The first chance of the game came from a long-range shot by Irune Dorado, which went wide, much to the relief of the Basque defence. The response was a cross intended for Carmen Álvarez, which also went out of play. Eunate Astralaga remained strong to thwart the Madridistas' attacks, but the goalkeeper could do nothing to stop Rocío Gálvez's header from inside the box following a precise corner delivery from Caroline Weir.

The Madridistas took the lead on the scoreboard with a goal from the centre-back from Cordoba, who was the MVP of the match. After the goal, Eibar tried to react, but the Madrid defence remained very solid. Before half-time, Sara Martín broke away with pace and attempted a pass back that found no teammates. After the restart, Pau Quesada made changes, bringing on three players. Iris Ashley, Sara Holmgaard, and Athenea del Castillo entered the pitch to create more danger in attack. The first major action of the second half fell to Feller. The French international appealed for a penalty, which the referee did not award. In the other penalty area, Laura Camino tried her luck with a powerful header that went over the crossbar.

Meanwhile, Athenea del Castillo also had a go with a shot that was blocked by the Eibar defence. The match remained very open, and Iñaki Goikoetxea brought on Iara Lacosta and Arene Altonaga. Real Madrid CF came close to a second when Sara Holmgaard's cross-shot was diverted by Astralaga with a crucial save. Iris Ashley also tried her luck with a shot that went high. Adela Rico was just centimetres away from an equaliser with a direct free-kick that sailed over. Emma Moreno attempted to level the score, and the home coach introduced Opa Clement in an attempt to salvage a draw. The end of the game was frantic. Sara Holmgaard cleared a shot from Mireia Masegur off the line, and the home side appealed for a potential handball by Bella Andersson. The final action was a shot from Patri Ojeda that Misa saved with a superb stop.
