Both teams took to the pitch at the Heliodoro with the desire to claim all three points. The first major chance of the match was a shot from Iratxe Pérez that a confident Andrea Tarazona saved comfortably to prevent the opposition attack. The goalkeeper, who was the MVP of the duel, making three saves, anticipated a good play from the Tenerife club, who were looking for the speed of Marina Martí and Natalia Padilla in the final third of the pitch. Marina Martí herself ventured forward with a cross to the far post looking for Violeta Quiles, but the Deportivo defence held firm at the back to cut out the danger and prevent the full-back from getting a shot away. Deportivo Abanca also sought a goal through Lucía Pardo, but the forward could not get past the Tenerife team's defence, who remained imperious at the back. The score remained unchanged at the end of the first half.
After the break, neither coach made any changes, aiming to maintain the same approach from the first half. Lucía Pardo had the first big chance of the second period. The attacker went for a shot from the edge of the area, but Noelia Ramos prevented the goal with a superb save to send the ball out for a corner. After the hour mark, Aithiara Carballo entered the Tenerife team, while Millene Cabral replaced Michi Apóstol for the Deportivo side. Millene herself came close to creating danger with a long ball over the top of the defence, but Noelia Ramos managed to clear the danger with a good sortie. The two protagonists met again a few minutes later, but this time, the goalkeeper had the help of Elba Vergés, who cut out the dangerous move to prevent the Brazilian forward from scoring.

Furthermore, the referee eventually disallowed the play for an offside position. Both coaches continued with a series of substitutions. Noelia Salazar and Koko Ange came on for the home side, and Sofía Domínguez and Paula Monteagudo were the changes for the Galician team. With six minutes left on the clock, Carla Castiñeyras received a second yellow card for a foul on the edge of the area on Natalia Padilla, and the referee sent off the Deportivo centre-back. That action led to a free-kick which Noelia Salazar took. Tarazona saved the midfielder's shot with a miraculous hand to send the ball out for a corner. The last chance fell to Natalia Padilla, who struck a volley after a cross from Koko Ange. The ball was saved by the Deportivo Abanca goalkeeper, who kept a clean sheet to secure a point for her team.
