"It has been a very good week. It has given us the chance to work, analyse, and correct the mistakes from last week," highlighted Adrián Martín ahead of the match. The fixture will take place on Monday, 7 September at 19:00 CEST at the Andalusian side's training ground, bringing the curtain down on Matchday 2 of the campaign. The manager, who previously served as Irene Ferreras's assistant, took charge of the Andalusian dugout following the departure of the Madrid-born coach over the summer. Granada CF are looking to get off the mark with their first win of the season after falling to a 3-1 defeat against Madrid CFF on the opening matchday. Laura Sánchez, Maya Evans, Bárbara López, and Naiara Sanmartín missed that clash and will also be sidelined for the match against the Basque side. The youth academy will once again be key to completing the matchday squad.

Meanwhile, Real Sociedad have not made the start to the season they would have hoped for, having been knocked out of the Champions League by Chelsea with a 6-2 aggregate scoreline, and losing their opening LigaF fixture 0-2 against Logroño United. Following the sudden departure of Arturo Ruiz, the new man in the *txuri-urdin* dugout is Gorka Álvarez, who arrives after working as assistant manager at Eibar. The visiting side will be dealing with a lengthy injury list as they go in search of their first victory of the campaign. Alazne Estensoro is away on international duty with Spain for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, while María Molina, Aiara Agirrezabala, and Sonya Keefe are sidelined through injury. Last season, the two sides met twice in the domestic competition, playing out a 2-2 draw in Andalusia before a 3-0 victory for the Basque team in the return fixture.
