The Indian footballers, during their visit to Liga F.

Fundación Vicente Ferrer, Liga F and FUNDACIÓN LALIGA welcome young footballers from India for a learning and exchange experience

LigaF, the Vicente Ferrer Foundation (FVF) and the FUNDACIÓN LALIGA have welcomed a delegation from Anantapur (India) to Madrid, consisting of players and a coach who will participate in the project that both foundations have been developing jointly since 2018 to promote access to sport, education and equal opportunities for children and youth in the region's rural communities. The programme has benefited thousands of children and young people, using football as a tool for social transformation and holistic development.

For several days, the participants have had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the reality of Spanish women's football through an agenda designed by LigaF, the Vicente Ferrer Foundation (FVF), and the LALIGA FOUNDATION, which combined institutional activities, meetings with athletes, and community experiences centred around sport.

The visit began with attendance at the LigaF match between Atlético de Madrid and Madrid CFF, where the young players could experience the atmosphere of the top Spanish women's football competition from a privileged perspective. After the match, they met with the players from the *rojiblanco* team, exchanging experiences and reflections on the role of football in their personal and sporting journeys.

The delegation also visited the LigaF offices, where they learned about the operation of the professional women's competition, its growth process, and the challenges and opportunities facing women's football in Spain. During the day, the participants shared impressions with representatives from the entities driving the project and received various gifts as a memento of their time in Madrid.

The experience concluded with a day alongside Madrid CFF, where the players from Anantapur attended a training session and were able to exchange experiences with players and coaching staff from the Madrid club in a community setting marked by the values of effort, inclusion, and teamwork.
The visit reinforces the exchange and awareness-raising actions promoted by the alliance between the LALIGA FOUNDATION and the Vicente Ferrer Foundation, which for seven seasons has been contributing to creating sporting, educational, and personal development opportunities for children and young people in Anantapur, with a special focus on the empowerment of girls and women through football.

Pedro Malabia, LigaF's Director General of Strategy, highlighted football's ability to connect cultures and generate new opportunities: "It has been a privilege to welcome these players and their coach to LigaF and to have the opportunity to show them firsthand the reality of Spanish professional women's football. This experience demonstrates that football transcends borders and becomes a tool capable of inspiring, generating opportunities, and connecting people from very different backgrounds through shared values."

Luz María Sanz Masedo, Director General of the Vicente Ferrer Foundation, emphasised the significance of an experience like this for the participants: "These have been very special days for everyone. Being able to share learning with the players and experience first-hand meeting entities and competitions that are part of the women's football ecosystem is a profoundly enriching opportunity. Beyond the sporting component, this visit allows them to reinforce values and see that effort, education, and teamwork can contribute to their future, enabling them to continue being great role models."

For her part, Olga de la Fuente, Director of the LALIGA FOUNDATION, highlighted the impact the project has on the young participants: "this visit has allowed us to share time with some of the protagonists of a project that perfectly represents the transformative power of football. They are role models within their communities and an example of how access to sport can open up opportunities, strengthen confidence, and contribute to the integral development of girls and young people facing significant social challenges."

This agenda of actions represents a new step in an alliance that continues to use football as a vehicle to promote social inclusion, equal opportunities, and the development of children and youth in Anantapur, further strengthening the links between Spanish football and communities where sport has the greatest potential for social transformation.
