Both teams will bring the curtain down on the twenty-second matchday of the competition, in what will be the first match played on a Monday this season. RCD Espanyol and SD Eibar are separated by four points, and they are fighting for the same objective: to remain in Liga F Moeve. Sara Monforte's side are in 12th position in the league table with 21 points, twelve above the relegation places. The Perico squad has gone five consecutive matches without a win (two draws and three defeats), and has only managed to win one match in 2026. Despite their negative run, the Blanquiazules compete in every game. Júlia Guerra, Cristina Baudet, who has just become a mother, and Olivia Fergusson, are doubts for the match against the Armero side, while Laura Martínez is a long-term absentee. For their part, Ariadna Domènech is a regular in the first team's call-ups.
For their part, SD Eibar want to end their poor run and return to winning ways. The Armero squad is in 13th place with 17 points, eight above the relegation places. Iñaki Goikoetxea's side have suffered six consecutive defeats, and like their opponents, have only managed to win one match at the start of 2026. The visiting coach will have doubts over Garazi Facila and Amaia Iribarren, who were not present in the last match, while Alimata Belem will be a significant loss due to an accumulation of yellow cards. The player from Burkina Faso has played in all league matchdays. Both teams are among those who have scored the fewest goals this season. The Perico squad is the sixth-lowest scoring team, with 19 goals scored, while the Eibar side have only scored 11 goals, making them, along with Alhama CF ElPozo, the team that scores the fewest.
Head-to-Head in Primera División
The two teams have met on five occasions in the top flight with a record of three wins for the Perico side, one draw, and one victory for the Armero squad. The first time both teams faced each other was in the 2020/2021 season with a 0-1 victory for the Eibar club and a 0-1 triumph for RCD Espanyol. Last season they also met twice, with the Blanquiazules winning one match 2-1 at home, and a 1-1 draw in Ipurua. Precisely, the Basque team's stadium was the scene of the first-leg match, where Sara Monforte's side eventually won 1-2. Júlia Guerra put her team ahead, but Laura Camino equalised around the half-hour mark. In the second half, Ainoa Campo ultimately secured the three points for the Catalan club. This Monday, the return fixture.
