Athenea del Castillo, the winner of the Player of the Month for January
On Monday, February 2nd, the winner of the ‘Player of the Month’ for January in Liga F Moeve has been revealed, awarded to Real Madrid CF footballer, Athenea del Castillo. The Cantabrian scored 2 goals during this month of competition, both against Levante UD, and provided an assist against Sevilla FC.

On Wednesday, January 21st, voting opened to choose the January Player of the Month. This initiative saw EA SPORTS select LigaF last season to become the pioneering women's league to introduce this award for the player with the best monthly performance and statistics in the Spanish First Division. The Spanish competition joined five other men's leagues that already offer this award in collaboration with EA SPORTS: LALIGA EA SPORTS, Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1.
The seven nominated players were: Athenea del Castillo (Real Madrid CF), Paula Fernández (Real Sociedad), Érika González (Levante UD), Ariadna Mingueza (Granada CF), Sydney Schertenleib (FC Barcelona), Anna Torrodà (RCD Espanyol), and Elba Vergés (Costa Adeje Tenerife). Ultimately, the winner was the forward from Real Madrid CF side. The attacker played 237 minutes across three matches in January in LigaF Moeve, scoring 2 goals, both against Levante UD, and providing one assist.
Furthermore, the winger scored a goal in the Supercopa de España semi-finals. The player from Solares has accumulated 1,163 league minutes, scoring four goals and providing six assists, making her the top assist provider for her team. With this Player of the Month selection, EA SPORTS enhances the Spanish international's item and continues to demonstrate its strong commitment to promoting women's football, specifically LigaF Moeve, as a pioneer for these types of initiatives worldwide. The forward joins Luany (September Player of the Month), Edna Imade (October Player of the Month), Claudia Pina (November Player of the Month), and Ewa Pajor (December Player of the Month).
