Both teams took to the pitch looking to secure all three points and claim fifth position in the league table. The first chance of the match fell to Atlético de Madrid. Synne Jensen recovered the ball in the opposition half and found herself one-on-one with Esther Sullastres, but the Norwegian forward's shot sailed over the crossbar, much to the relief of the home side. The two protagonists met again a few minutes later. Jensen tried her luck with a shot from inside the area, but the Hispalense goalkeeper made a crucial save. At the other end, Lola Gallardo prevented Fatou Kanteh from scoring with a great stop. The match was perfectly balanced until, in the 19th minute, the referee awarded a penalty against Lauren Leal, which Andrea Álvarez converted to make it 1-0 on the scoreboard.
Atlético de Madrid attempted to react and find an equalizer, but the Sevilla defence held firm to contain the rival attacks. Just before half-time, Fatou Kanteh drove forward with the ball and perfectly spotted Andrea Álvarez arriving on the wing. The forward controlled the ball, cut inside, and didn't hesitate to fire it directly into the top corner, nestling into the back of Lola Gallardo's net. 2-0 at the end of the first half. After the break, José Herrera's side took just two minutes to reduce the deficit. Carmen Menayo delivered a ball into the heart of the area, and Xènia Pérez finished it off at the far post to send the ball into the back of the net. Gemma Gili and Iris Arnaiz were introduced by Sevilla to bolster the midfield in response to the Madrid side's attacking pressure.

Once again, another delivery into the box was headed by Lauren Leal, but Esther Sullastres was instrumental in keeping the ball out and denying the Brazilian centre-back a goal. The visitors continued their efforts to level the match, while the Hispalense side looked to seal the victory. Indeed, Andrea Álvarez came close to a hat-trick with a header that Lola Gallardo had to make a crucial save from to prevent the goal. In added time, Andrea Álvarez was eventually sent off for a second yellow card. Despite Atlético's insistence in the final stages, David Losada's team secured all three points to go into the international break in 5th position in Liga F Moeve with 36 points, the same as Costa Adeje Tenerife, while the Madrid club sits in 6th position in the league standings with 32 points.
