Alhama intensifies the relegation battle
The Murcian side secured a 3-1 victory over RCD Espanyol with goals from Belén Martínez, Vega Berasategui—who was named MVP of the match—and 'Yiyi'. Meanwhile, Browne scored the only goal for the visitors. The hosts now sit two points from safety, with DUX Logroño still to play their match.

Randri García’s side started the match with the firm intention of securing all three points and claiming a victory that would tighten the battle for survival. Just two minutes in, Vega Berasategui won the ball in midfield and threaded a pass through to Belén Martínez, who controlled it and poked it into the back of the net, making it impossible for Romane Salvador to reach. The visitors held possession but failed to trouble Sol Belotto, who had very little to do between the sticks. The second goal arrived fifteen minutes into the match. The RCD Espanyol goalkeeper failed to clear the ball properly; it struck Vega, who had been applying pressure, and ended up in the back of the net. The winger was named MVP of the match. A third goal was on the cards for Belén Martínez, but Romane Salvador cleared the ball confidently.

Problems mounted for RCD Espanyol with the injury to Mar Torras, forcing Anna Torrodà to come on in her place, but the visitors looked to narrow the deficit. Ainoa Campo came close to scoring. The midfielder received a great pass from Lucía Vallejo and found herself one-on-one with Sol, who reacted providentially to prevent the goal. Then, on the half-hour mark, a cross from Daniela Caracas was headed home by Browne to make it 2-1. Before the break, Vega tried her luck with a powerful strike that went over the crossbar. Anna Torrodà, who had only been on the pitch for twenty minutes, had to be substituted due to injury, with Ángeles del Álamo coming on after the restart. Sara Monforte’s side pushed forward through Browne, while Naima García also tried her luck with a cross-shot that went straight into the hands of the home goalkeeper, who looked very secure.
In the 52nd minute, Vega flicked the ball on with her head, and it fell to Mari Jose, who threaded it through for 'Yiyi', who made no mistake in scoring the third. After the goal, the visitors continued to look for Browne in attack, while on the half-hour mark, Sara Monforte opted to bring Ariadna Doménech onto the pitch. Browne had another chance to score, but her header crashed directly against the crossbar. Naima García also tried her luck, but her effort was blocked by the Murcian defence. The final attempts for the visitors came from Paula Perea and Paula Arana as they looked to get back into the match. Ángeles del Álamo came close to reaching a long ball. The Madrid native tried again, but could not find Browne at the back post. With this victory, Alhama CF ElPozo remains in 15th place with 13 points, two behind DUX Logroño, who have yet to play.
