Alba Fundación and Valencia draw, while Villarreal win in the first leg of the promotion play-off semi-finals

CD Alba Fundación Femenino and Valencia CF drew 0-0 in the first leg of the Liga F Moeve promotion playoff semi-finals. The tie will be decided at the Antonio Puchades. Meanwhile, Villarreal CF won 2-1 against CA Osasuna and will look to secure their place in the final in the return leg.

Four teams are looking to join Deportivo Alavés (2nd in the standings with 56 points) next season in Liga F Moeve. The first semi-final was played on Saturday, May 9th at 16:00h, with Villarreal CF (6th in the standings with 38 points) defeating CA Osasuna (7th in the standings with 33 points) 1-2. Meanwhile, CD Alba Fundación Femenino (8th in the standings with 33 points) and Valencia CF (6th in the standings with 38 points) drew 0-0 on Sunday, May 10th at 12:00h. The two teams that advance from the play-offs will reach a two-legged final to try and secure the other ticket to the top flight. The return leg will be played at the home ground of the team that finished higher in the regular league season. In case of a draw, the matches will be decided in extra time, but not penalties, as the teams that finished higher in Primera RFEF will be promoted. 

Saturday, May 9th 16:00h CA Osasuna 1 - Villarreal CF 2

The 'groguet' side took the first leg. The 'rojillas' started better, but the first chances fell to the visitors, though they failed to convert them. Just before half-time, ‘Lauris’ created a good play down the left wing. The home goalkeeper cleared the ball, and the rebound fell back to the winger, who didn't miss, opening the scoring. After the break, CA Osasuna pressed harder in search of an equaliser, but Josu Domínguez's side remained wasteful in front of the opposition goal. Saioa came close to surprising with a dangerous cross, and Urzainqui again troubled the visiting defence with a header. Azpiazu also tried with a direct free-kick, but it was María Romero who extended the Yellow Submarine's lead with a shot from mid-range. A few minutes later, Claudia Jiménez made it 1-2 on the scoreboard, leaving everything open for the return leg, which will be played on Sunday, May 17th at 20:00h.

Everything will be decided at the Antonio Puchades. CA Alba Fundación Femenino and Valencia CF drew 0-0 in the first leg. In the opening minutes, both teams sought to gain control of the ball. Marcano had the first chance for the visitors, but without success. Nazareth Martín also tried with a header. Before half-time, Tere Morató and Marina Puebla also came close to scoring, though they couldn't find the opposition goal. In the second half, Mireya tried with a dangerous cross, while Lara Sierra came close to scoring with a shot straight into the hands of a confident Jana Xin. After the hour mark, Pauleta Sancho crashed a free-kick against the crossbar, and in the final stages, Laura came close to scoring for the home side. Ivorian Rebecca Elloh was sent off for Valencia CF, and Adriana Martín scored for the 'manchego' side, but the goal was disallowed for offside. The return leg will be played on Sunday, May 17th at 12:00h.
