One of the greatest talents from the Sevilla FC youth academy. That's Alba Cerrato (Córdoba, January 1, 2007). The Córdoba native shone at Séneca, playing as a full-back with the boys at the time, until David Losada, who is now her coach, signed her, making her the first player in the history of the Andalusian club's residence. On May 5, 2023, she debuted with the first team, and the following year she again had opportunities with the senior squad, playing seven matches in the top flight. Last season, she had more prominence with 432 minutes in twenty-three games, in which she scored one goal, her first in the top flight, and provided two assists. Indeed, that goal was her debut goal with the Sevilla first team, and she became the youngest footballer to score last season in Primera, at 18 years and 10 days.
This season, with five matchdays remaining in the league competition, Alba Cerrato has already surpassed her figures from last season. The Córdoba forward has already accumulated 608 minutes in twenty-two matches, in which she has scored two goals, against Alhama CF Pozo, where she was key coming off the bench to secure the three points for her team (2-1), and against FC Barcelona at the Johan Cruyff stadium, where she played ninety minutes and managed to improve the scoreline with a goal in the final stages (4-1). To these two goals, we must add another against Real Oviedo in the victory (2-3) in the Copa de la Reina round of 32. This season, the Córdoba attacker has taken on the role of her team's 'super-sub' and of Liga F Moeve, being the player in the competition who has come off the bench the most times, on 19 occasions.
Despite being only 19 years old, her curriculum is completed with extensive experience in the lower categories of the Spanish national team. The Sevilla FC player won the U17 European Championship in 2024 after defeating England 0-4 in the final, where she scored one of her team's goals. Furthermore, the striker was chosen as the best player and top scorer of the tournament with 7 goals. That same year, she also finished as U17 World Cup runner-up, and last summer she got her revenge by once again being crowned U19 European champion with La Roja after beating France 0-4 in the final. During this break, she has once again been called up by the U19 national team, of which she is captain and a regular in all call-ups. After the international window, the Córdoba native will return to the Andalusian club to continue accumulating minutes in this final stretch of the league season.
