A sensational return to the top flight for Deportivo Alavés. The *babazorro* side bounced back to the elite after three seasons in Primera RFEF, marking their comeback by defeating Valencia CF 2-0 in the clash of the newly promoted sides. Goals from Kumba Brima and Ainhoa Guallar—who was also named Player of the Match—secured the win. Interestingly, this victory sees Andrea Esteban's side enter an exclusive club of teams that earned promotion to the First Division and won their opening league match. Since the inception of Liga F Moeve in the 2022/2023 season, out of the ten teams that have stepped up to the top tier, only FC Badalona Women (then known as Levante Las Planas), Granada CF, and now the Vitoria-Gasteiz outfit have managed to achieve this feat.

The Catalan side claimed a 1-2 victory away at Real Betis Féminas, while the Andalusian club triumphed 2-1 against Real Sociedad. Furthermore, Deportivo Alavés previously spent two seasons in the First Division. In the 2021/2022 campaign, just the year before the competition turned professional, they also won their opening match by beating Real Betis Féminas 2-1. On that occasion, the *babazorro* side successfully maintained their top-flight status—a milestone they will be hoping to repeat this season. The following year, *las Gloriosas* suffered relegation, but the Vitoria club has returned stronger than ever, securing a debut that only two other promoted teams have managed, and aiming to turn Mendizorroza into a fortress to secure their elite survival.
