Two historic clubs from Liga F Moeve will close Matchday 27 in opposite positions in the league table, but with the same objective: to take all three points from the Johan Cruyff. FC Barcelona arrives as champions of the competition, the eleventh league title in their history, their seventh consecutive, after securing 75 points from twenty-five wins and only one defeat. Furthermore, the Blaugrana are the team that has scored the most goals this season (116) and conceded the fewest (7). Pere Romeu's side won 4-2 against Bayern Munich in the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals to secure their ticket to the final with a 5-3 aggregate score. “Humans tend to relax when they reach the top, and this team always wants to win; I am most proud of this competitive hunger,” stated the Catalan coach at the end of the match.
Also on the horizon is the Copa de la Reina final against Atlético de Madrid. Two finals to try and achieve the other two remaining titles and secure the quadruple this season. Specifically, the Blaugrana will present the league championship to their fans. A very special celebration that will allow the public to be part of an event where the players will parade the trophy around the pitch. Additionally, the players of the Blaugrana team will wear a jersey featuring the logo of Olivia Rodrigo, one of the most prominent voices in contemporary music. Centre-back Laia Aleixandri, who is currently injured with a cruciate ligament tear, will be the only absentee for the Culés as they face the clash.
For their part, Levante UD boasts four league titles, six Copa de la Reina titles, and two Spanish Super Cups in their trophy cabinet, but they currently sit at the bottom of Liga F Moeve with just 8 points, ten points adrift of safety, which is currently held by DUX Logroño (18 points). Precisely, the victory for the Riojan team 3-0 against Madrid CFF forces the Granotas to get a result at the Johan Cruyff. In the event of a defeat, Andrés París's team, who have accumulated eight consecutive losses, will be relegated. Paulina Ali, Núria Escoms, and Zipporah Agama will not be available to face the match, nor will long-term injury victim Érika González, who tore her cruciate ligament. Ainhoa Bascuñán 'Bascu' and Ana Franco will also not be included in the squad. Both players are suspended due to an accumulation of yellow cards.
The precedent Levante UD clings to
Since the 2013/2014 season, both teams have faced each other on a total of thirty occasions throughout their history, with a record of twenty-five victories for the Culé side, three draws, and two wins for Levante UD. The last of those came last season, precisely at the Johan Cruyff. The Catalan side had not lost in Liga F Moeve at home since February 13, 2019, but 2,180 days later, the Granotas won 1-2 with goals from María de Alharilla and Ivonne Chacón. A goal from Fridolina Rolfö allowed the Blaugrana to reduce the deficit, but they could not avoid defeat. Furthermore, on February 14, 2024, the Levante team managed to secure a 1-1 draw at the Blaugrana's home ground. Two positive results that they will aim to follow up with a third that will allow them, for at least one more matchday, to remain in the top flight.
