The Nuevo Los Cármenes stadium dressed up to host FC Barcelona for the match corresponding to Matchday 21 of Liga F Moeve. The Nazarí side ended up losing 0-2, but despite the defeat, the home team's temple enjoyed a great celebration of women's football with 5,100 spectators in the stands. “Experiencing this is very special for me. The fans were a perfect 10. They pushed us and helped us in a very difficult match. The fans understood what the team needed. They transmitted calm and encouragement to us, and I hope they left feeling that sense of pride at the end of the match,” expressed Irene Ferreras after the game. The Madrid native, who became the first coach in the history of the Nazarí club last summer, added: “We will continue fighting to score our first goal at Los Cármenes.”

The ‘Love For The Colours’ Campaign Took Centre Stage

Just like in the Matchday 20 fixtures, ‘Love For The Colours’ also played a starring role in the matches played during Matchday 21. This is an initiative by LigaF to commemorate the International Day Against Homophobia in Sport. At Los Cármenes, the Volkswagen car was customised with the colours of the rainbow flag, as was one of the stadium seats. The young girl who sat in that seat received the campaign shirt. An exclusive piece created by the Madrid-based illustrator, muralist, and painter Be Fernández. Furthermore, the Granada CF players posed for the starting XI photo with a customised card to reaffirm their commitment to rejecting the violence experienced by LGBTIQ+ people, and at the end of the match, the local footballers handed out coloured laces to the youngest fans.
