In that game, Patri Gavira, Pisco, Alba Pérez, Fatou Dembele, Yerliane Moreno, Paulina Gramaglia, Érika González, and Towa were unavailable. "The team is very excited to start the season at the stadium," stated Yerai Martín in a press conference. Deportivo Abanca, on the other hand, wants to secure their first win after a 0-1 home loss to Sevilla FC on their debut. The Deportivo squad will be without Merle Barth, Ainoa Gómez, and Marisa, both of whom are with the U20 World Cup squad. Last season's encounters ended in a 1-1 draw in the first leg and a 2-0 victory for Tenerife in the return fixture.

Later in the afternoon, Logroño United and Athletic Club will face off at the Las Gaunas stadium. Both teams are coming off victories in their respective opening league fixtures. The Rioja club secured a 0-2 win against Real Sociedad in a match where Argentinians Milagros Martín, who is injured, and Francisca Altgelt were absent. The Basque side took all three points by defeating FC Badalona Women 3-1, coming from behind. Víctor Martín, beginning a new chapter on the Basque bench, will be without injured players Ane Elexpuru, Leire Baños, and Sara Ortega, as well as Daniela Agote and Elene Gurtubay, who are preparing for the U20 World Cup.
