Liga F has kicked off the 2026/27 season with a new television record. The opening matchday reached an audience of over 450,000 viewers and a growth exceeding 300% compared to the start of last season, becoming the most-watched opening matchday in history.
This figure confirms the sustained growth trend in the competition's viewership and reinforces the audiovisual strategy driven by Liga F and its clubs. This season, the model continues the approach initiated last term, combining pay-per-view offerings and free-to-air broadcasts as two complementary avenues, aiming to maximise the competition's visibility, reach new audiences, and continue growing its viewership.
The new audiovisual distribution in Spain, with DAZN offering all eight matches of each matchday and TVE and 3Cat/TV3 broadcasting up to four games free-to-air, allows half of the Liga F Moeve matches to be watched for free every weekend, enhancing the exposure for clubs, players, and sponsors.
The record set on this opening matchday continues the significant growth registered over recent seasons. Liga F Moeve concluded the 2025/26 season with an accumulated audience of 7.5 million viewers, an 11.2% increase from the previous season. Since the 2022/23 season, when the competition registered 3.3 million, its accumulated audience has more than doubled, consolidating a sustained upward trend.
Next objective: expand international presence
Liga F will continue over the coming weeks to advance the commercialisation and awarding of the Liga F Moeve audiovisual rights in various international markets, having opted for a territory-by-territory commercialisation strategy to adapt to the characteristics and opportunities of each market.
The objective is to continue expanding the international dimension of Liga F Moeve, increase its reach, and bring the competition closer to an ever-growing number of fans worldwide, making visibility and audience growth one of the foundations upon which to build its future value.
