Karchaoui spoils Real Madrid's European debut
Real Madrid CF and PSG shared the points with a 1-1 draw on the first matchday of the Champions group stage. Felicia Schröder's goal in the second minute of the match put the Madridistas ahead, but a strike from Sakina Karchaoui, from the penalty spot, in the second half levelled the score.

Pau Quesada's side took to the Di Stéfano pitch with the aim of securing all three points, and just two minutes into the game, the first goal of the match arrived. A great cross into the box from Arianna Caruso, following an individual play by Keukelaar, was headed home from inside the area by Felicia Schröder to open the scoring at 0-1. The home team controlled the encounter, but from a set-piece, Isabela came close to scoring. Meanwhile, Ajibade also went close to netting, but the Nigerian's shot sailed over the crossbar, much to Frohms' relief. The two protagonists met again when the forward's cross-shot was gathered by the German goalkeeper. The white-clad team sat back, looking to counter-attack, and Schröder came close to scoring with a powerful, driven shot. Real Madrid CF went into the break with a lead on the scoreboard.
After the restart, Jade Le Guilly entered the French squad to bolster the defence. The first chance of the second half fell to Felicia Schröder, but her shot went wide. A few minutes later, the Swedish forward again went close to scoring, but her strike hit the woodwork. It wasn't third time lucky for the striker, who grew frustrated up front. Linda Caicedo also tried her luck in attack. Real Madrid CF missed their chances, and with fifteen minutes left on the clock, Lakrar committed a penalty foul on Lea Morissaint, which Sakina Karchaoui converted. Frohms guessed the direction of the shot but couldn't save the penalty. The home side pushed forward in the final stretch of the match through Schröder and with the introduction of Beerensteyn. The last opportunity fell to Feller with a shot that grazed the post. Both teams shared the points.
